KLOTZO

Send us a track

KLOTZO plays a rotation of tracks under its matches. If you make music that would sit well under two minutes of falling blocks, you can offer one here.

Before you send anything

Sending a track is an offer, not a place in the game. A person sits and listens to every submission — there is no machine deciding this — and we choose what goes in the rotation. Most will not be chosen, and we can say no without giving a reason. Usually that is a call about what the game sounds like rather than about your track, and when something is fixable we say what it was.

What you are offering a place in is the in-match playlist, one track among several. The menu theme is not picked from here.

What we listen for, so you can check before you send:

It pays

If your track goes in the rotation, we pay you 1.5× what the same listening would have earned on Spotify — counted per play, from the first play, with no threshold to cross before anything counts and nobody in the middle taking a cut. We pay you directly, so the same "1.5×" is nearer three to five times what a small artist actually receives through a distributor.

A play is counted the way Spotify counts one: thirty seconds of it heard is a play, whether the player then hears thirty seconds more or all four minutes, and a skip before that is nothing. In money: a play is worth somewhere around half a cent, and we pay out once you have reached €10 — roughly two thousand plays. Being plain about it: this is beer money, not rent. What it is instead is a room of people who are not skipping, and a count you are allowed to check.

Spotify has no fixed per-stream rate — it divides a pool, and the figure moves every month and every market — so ours moves with the best public number for what a rights holder is paid. Play counting is being built; until it is running, nothing is being counted and we will say so rather than invent a figure.
