The game is free. These terms matter mainly if you take out the optional subscription, and the part that most needs saying is the cancellation right, which is further down and is not buried on purpose.

Playing costs nothing and needs no account. It is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be available at any particular moment: it runs on one server, and that server gets restarted for updates, which ends any match in progress. Nothing here is a guarantee of uptime.
One display name belongs to one account. Names that are used to advertise, to impersonate somebody, or that are abusive can be changed or removed. So can leaderboard entries that were obviously not achieved by playing. Accounts used to harass other players can be closed.
One product: it removes the break between rounds for as long as it is active. You choose the price from the amounts offered, it is billed monthly by Stripe, and it renews until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next payment; the current month runs to its end. The break comes back when the subscription lapses.
The amount you pick is the amount you pay. No tax is added on top at checkout: as a small business under §19 UStG we charge no German VAT, and your invoice says so.
The break between rounds is where we ask you to make an account or to chip in. There are no third-party adverts in it today; if any are ever shown there, the same payment removes them.

If you are a consumer in the EU you have fourteen days to withdraw from the subscription, without giving a reason. To do so, tell us in a plain statement (email is fine) that you are withdrawing. We will refund what you paid within fourteen days, using the same means of payment. Where you have asked for the service to begin immediately, you may owe a proportionate amount for the part already used.
You can also pay once, from the amounts offered, without subscribing. This is a purchase: it removes the break between rounds from your account for twelve months from the day the payment arrives. You choose the amount, and every amount buys the same twelve months — paying more does not extend it. Buying again adds another twelve months to whatever is left. You can see the date it ends on your account page.
Because it is a purchase you have the same right to withdraw as with the subscription above: fourteen days from the day the payment arrives. If you asked us to switch the break off immediately, you may owe a proportionate amount for the days already used. Email hello@klotzo.com and we will refund the rest. The twelve months can still end early if the account is closed or the rules here are broken.
Paying, either way, creates an account on the email address you give Stripe, so that the payment can be tied to somebody. You can sign in to it, and you can ask us to close it.
Codes are handed out individually and can be withdrawn if they are used to spam, to mislead about what KLOTZO is, or to generate self-referred purchases. The revenue share is a percentage of real, completed payments, and it is paid by hand.
Do not use modified clients, automation, or anything else that puts scores on the board that were not played. Do not attack the service. Both cost other people the thing they came for.
You can draw an avatar out of the game's own pieces, or upload a picture. Either way it stays yours. You give us a simple, non-exclusive, free licence to store it and show it to other players — beside your name in a match, on the results card, on a profile card — for as long as it is on your account. Remove it, or delete the account, and that licence ends with it.
Upload only what is yours to upload. Your own photograph, your own drawing. Not somebody else's picture, not a photograph of another person who has not agreed to it, not a logo or a character belonging to someone else. Nothing illegal, hateful, sexual or violent, and nothing meant to pass you off as another player.
An uploaded picture is looked at by a person before anyone else can see it, so it will not appear the moment you send it. A drawing goes up straight away and is looked at afterwards, because it is built out of seven tetrominoes and there is less that can go wrong — but it is still looked at, and it can still come down. If we refuse one you are told, and told why. Repeatedly sending things that get refused can cost you the ability to upload at all.
If you see an avatar that breaks these rules, write to hello@klotzo.com and say which player it belongs to. Reports are looked at by a person, and content that does not belong here is removed.
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only where a material contractual obligation is breached, and then only up to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. This does not affect liability under the German Product Liability Act. Nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
These terms can change. If a change materially affects a paid subscription, subscribers will be told by email before it takes effect, with the option to cancel.
